| Abstract: | The Jacquet-Rallis fundamental lemma arises from the relative trace formula approach to the Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture for unitary groups. It is an identity between two local orbital integrals. We will give an overview of Z. Yun's proof of the Jacquet-Rallis fundamental lemma, based on the geometrization of orbital integrals via certain moduli spaces of Higgs bundles. |
