Abstract: We prove a quite general result about existence of infinitesimal characters in arithmetic families of locally analytic representations. As a consequence of this and dimension considerations, we deduce that certain Banach space representations occurring in completed cohomology are of finite length. (Joint with Gabriel Dospinescu and Benjamin Schraen).
