Title: Nonlinear Asymptotic Stability of the Hydrostatic Equilibrium for Some Gravitational Gaseous Stars with Vacuum Free Boundary
Abstract: The motion of gravitational gaseous stars considered in this talk is governed by the vacuum free boundary problem of Navier-Stokes-Piosson system in 3-D. In spherically symmetric setting, we investigate the nonlinear asymptotic stability of the hydrostatic equilibrium for a gravitational gaseous star with a general pressure equation, which may include polytropes, some normal stars or white dwarfs. We obtain the nonlinear asymptotic stability of the hydrostatic equilibrium for some viscous gravitational gaseous stars in two cases: (i) constant viscosity; (ii) density-dependent viscosity with noise. This talk is based on joint work with Prof. Luo Tao and Prof. Zeng Huihui.
