Abstract: Period integrals and special values of automorphic L-functions have deep and intrinsic relationships. We will explain how the central symmetric cube L-value of automorphic representations of GL_2 is related to a coperiod integral of GL_2 in its cubic Kazhdan-Patterson cover and study relevant local multiplicities. This is based on joint work with Prof. L. Cai and Prof. D. M. She.
